Nickerbacher loves to make people laugh. He wants to make a career out of being a comedian, so much so that he practices his routine on Princess Gwendolyn with great success. She roars at his antics, especially the imitation of his papa. Laughter is music to his ears and compels Nickerbacher to write effective material.
Father and son
Nickerbacher and his father have a strained relationship. Papa Dragon wants Nickerbacher to have a traditional job so he can be safe. But Nickerbacher intends to break new ground. Their love grows stronger by the end of the story because they learn to understand a perspective different from their own.
